Acupuncture Happy Hour  - Sunday 3pm Sanctuary

Tired, weary, and worn out from the Festival?  Or looking for a little healing love?
Acupuncture Happy Hour is back!  Although this isn’t technically a workshop, through this treatment, you will be learning to be still with yourself (something that a lot of us find ourselves a beginner at).
Relax, de-stress and detox the body and mind with an auricular (ear) acupuncture treatment. Auricular therapy has a long history of use in China, and has been shown to stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s own feel-good chemicals.

This yummy treatment also activates your body’s self-regulating systems, which help your body clean itself of toxins naturally.  It is also very effective in turning off your body’s stress mechanisms and benefiting your immune system.  You will leave feeling relaxed, calm, and energized all at the same time so you can finish out your festival weekend blissfully prepared for your week ahead!
In a group healing environment, participants will receive an acupuncture treatment. Treatment will be done only in the ears while you lay on the ground or remain sitting. After treatment starts you will relax quietly for 20-40 minutes. Many people find themselves drifting into a refreshing sleep.
If you were always curious about Acupuncture, this is a great introduction!  There is limited space for this event, so there will be a sign-up sheet outside of the Sanctuary starting on Friday.  We ask that you keep your appointment so that everyone who wants to experience this, may!

Rez has been practicing acupuncture for over six years. Besides her own private practice, Rez Acupuncture, Rez works at Brooklyn Acupuncture Project- a Community Acupuncture style clinic which seeks to dissolve the boundary between cost and care, allowing all people to have access to preventative health care now.
Rez is also an artist, performer, and beekeeper.

Caroline Grace (Lina Luv) Ashurst, L.Ac., M.Ac., founder of Restorative Harmony Acupuncture, received her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture in 2009.  Currently practicing Acupuncture in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, Caroline partners with her clients to personalize each treatment, depending on his or her specific needs in the moment-- be they related to the Body, Mind, or Spirit.

In addition to Caroline’s private practice downtown, she also offers her community many other accessible opportunities to receive Acupuncture: Caroline is currently in the exciting process of opening an Integrative Community Healing Center with Dr. Sarah Cohen, MD (who is also hosting a workshop at PEXfest this year).  In the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, she offers “Acupuncture Happy Hour” once a week, where group Acupuncture is administered while soothing music permeates the air.  Caroline also co-facilitates “Yoga-Puncture” with Yoga Instructor Liana Cameris at Dhyana Yoga studios, and offers her Acupuncture at private Yoga retreats with Brittany T. Policastro.

Passionate about the Healing Arts, Music, and Community, and Education, Caroline has been hosting workshops at PEX Summerfest since 2009, and also curates self-enriching events including TEDxPhilly (2010) and PEX Summerfest (2010-12).  Caroline Grace Ashurst is an adjunct faculty member in the Acupuncture department at the WON Institute of Graduate Studies.  You also may know her as Lina Luv… sharing her booty-shakin’ global beats on the dance floor at PEX events and other east coast parties!
